Kate LYNCH died date unknown.
It's not known exactly how Kate was related to William Lynch but it's thought she may have been a granddaughter. Kate worked in Paris for a time, possibly as a governess. She later moved to St. Petersburg in Russia with the same family. Following the departure of this family from St. Petersburg, Kate stayed on as governess to the family of the crown prince, later Czar Nicholas II. It's said that during the Revolution of 1917, she escaped St. Petersburg in a cattle-truck.
Note: a relative of Kate's (a brother, perhaps, and possibly named Philip) spent many years in Africa, including 10 years at the Ashanti goldmine (in Ghana?). |

Joseph MORAHAN [Parents] was born about 1854 in Co. Leitrim. He died about 1930 and was buried in Rhue Cemetery (near Tubbercurry), Co. Sligo. Joseph married Mary RUTLEDGE on 23 Feb 1879 in Jamestown Church, Co. Leitrim.
Joseph was a coachbuilder. According to the 1901 census he was living at the time in John St. in the town of Sligo. Since all his children listed were born in Co. Leitrim, it appears he and his family moved from Co. Leitrim to Sligo sometime after the birth in about 1897 of Charlotte.
