Thomas HAYES [Parents] was born about 1854 in possibly Templeathea, Co. Limerick. He married Johanna HUDSON on 22 Feb 1881 in Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry.

The 1911 census tells us that Thomas and Johanna had been married for 30 years and had 10 children born alive, seven of whom were still alive at the time of the census.

A Daniel Hayes of Templeathea, who died on 3 April 1973 aged 80, is buried in Templeathea Churchyard. Could Daniel have been a son of Thomas and Johanna? Daniel's wife, Mary (Molly), who died on 20 January 1989 aged 98, is buried with him.

Johanna HUDSON [Parents] was born in Kilbaha, Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry. She died 1 Mar 1932 in Athea, Co. Limerick. Johanna married Thomas HAYES on 22 Feb 1881 in Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry.

I had originally been told by a family source that it was Johanna's sister Honora who married Thomas Hayes was married but this appears to be incorrect as Thomas's marriage record shows that he married a Jahanna Hudson and census records show Thomas's wife's name to have been Johanna. However Honora's sister Johanna (born around 1857) appears to have died as a child. Either this is incorrect or another daughter named Johanna was born after the death of the first Johanna.

Sponsors at Brigid's baptism were Patrick Loughnane and Brigid Connor.

Brigid emigrated to Australia about 1870.

James Edward HUDSON [Parents] was born 10 Aug 1876 in Melbourne, Australia. He died 17 Mar 1943 in Australia. James married Hanora LANE on 1902 in Australia.

James became an orphan before the age of two.

He served as mayor of the town of Brunswick, Victoria from 1929 to 1930.

Hanora LANE married James Edward HUDSON on 1902 in Australia.
