There's an Ellis Island record for what appears to be Nora Thornton from Newtownsandes who emigrated, aged 21, in September 1924. Could this be our Nonie? On the ship manifest her nearest relative in Ireland is given as "Mr. Thornton" of Kilbaha, Newtownsandes. Nora was joining a sister, "Miss M. Thornton" (could this be Mamie?) in New York City. However I'm told our Nonie and her husband lived in Dirreen, Athea. Could Nonie have emigrated and returned?
