Michael farmed on the O'Hara land at Moigh and on land in Clegna he inherited from his uncle, James O'Hara. He also worked for a time as a rep for the ICMSA (Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association).

Prior to her marriage, Annabella ran her own hair salon above her parents' pub in Kiltyclogher, Co. Leitrim. She and Michael lived in Moigh in Cootehall, Co. Roscommon.
