Mary MULVIHILL [Parents] was born about 3 Feb 1863 in Gortdromasillihy, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was christened 5 Feb 1863 in Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died date unknown in possibly Chicago. Mary married 'unknown' STACK.

Mary emigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago.

Daniel MULVIHILL.

Daniel farmed in Clounbrane, Gortdromasillihy and Kilbaha, all in the parish of Newtownsandes (now named Moyvane), Co. Kerry.

Note from Helen: Although 'unknown' above is not blood-related to me or my husband, I came across the information below in the course of my research into the family of my great-great-great-aunt Biddy Cunningham of Kilbaha, Moyvane who married John Mulvihill (from Aughrim, Moyvane). Although John does not appear to be related to Daniel above, the information below on Daniel and his descendants may be of some use to those researching Mulvihill families in Moyvane.

Daniel (Dan) MULVIHILL died in probably Gortdromasillihy, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Dan inherited the family's Gortdromasillihy farm (one of three farms owned by the Mulvihills). It's possible Dan was the Daniel Mulvihill of Gortdromasillihy whose son Cornelius married Mary Healy around 1898 and had 12 children.

There was a Denis Mulvihill, born in the 1870s, who grew up in Gortdromasillihy and who may have been related to Dan. It's known Denis had a brother named Patrick who had a son named Willie who died in 2001. Denis married a Bridget Flynn and they lived in Ballygoughlin, Glin, Co. Limerick. Their children were Ellen, Mary, Jack, Bridget, Mick, Josephine, Margaret, Catherine and Martin. Martin was a renowned fiddle-player and teacher in New York.

'unknown' MULVIHILL (male) died in probably Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

'unknown' above inherited the family's Kilbaha farm (one of three farms owned by the Mulvihills). It's possible there were no Mulvihills left in Kilbaha by 1911 because the census of that year shows no returns for any Mulvihill household in Kilbaha.

Cornelius (Con) MULVIHILL [Parents] died in probably Clounbrane, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He married Ann (Nance) CUNNINGHAM.

At the time of his marriage to Bridget Dineen, Cornelius was living in Gortdromasillihy. Apparently he subsequently inherited the family's Clounbrane farm (one of three farms owned by the Mulvihills). Six of his 14 children emigrated to the United States (it's thought four went to Chicago, one to Ohio and one to Indiana) and three daughters moved to Ballylongford, Co. Kerry. We don't know where the remaining children lived.

Ann (Nance) CUNNINGHAM died before 1862. She married Cornelius (Con) MULVIHILL.

Could Nance have been connected to my Cunningham family of Kilbaha, Newtownsandes?

Ellen (Nellie) HANRAHAN [Parents] was born 26 Feb 1886 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was christened 27 Feb 1886 in Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 1936 in San Francisco. Ellen married Percy SARGENT.

Nellie's baptismal sponsors were Michael Hanrahan and [first name not recorded] Hanrahan.

Nellie became a nurse.

John and Johanna owned a pub in Carlton.

Johanna HANRAHAN [Parents] was born about 2 Oct 1862 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was christened 2 Oct 1862 in Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 1909 in Melbourne, Australia. Johanna married John O'CONNOR on 1890 in Carlton, Victoria, Australia.

Sponsors at Johanna's baptism were Thomas Cronin and Ann Cunningham.
