A marriage record was located for a Daniel Connell of Athea and a Catherine Connor of Kilbaha, daughter of Patrick Connor. We are assuming that this Catherine was Catherine, daughter of our Patrick O'Connor.

Catherine O'CONNOR (caution: not verified) [Parents] was born May 1843 in probably Dirreen Lower, Athea, Co. Limerick and was christened 7 May 1843 in Athea, Co. Limerick. She married Daniel CONNELL (caution: not verified) on 14 Dec 1866 in Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Sponsors at Catherine's baptism were Daniel Mara and Maria Dore.

John BARRETT [Parents] was born in probably Dirreen, Athea, Co. Limerick. He married Johanna THORNTON (caution: not verified) on 1 Mar 1870 in Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Johanna THORNTON (caution: not verified) [Parents] was born about 1845 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She married John BARRETT on 1 Mar 1870 in Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

From Johanna's marriage record we know her father was a James Thornton from Kilbaha but we cannot say for certain - although it's very likely - that Johanna was a daughter of Jim Thornton and Norrie Cunningham of Kilbaha, hence the caution. The children listed below are the children of the Johanna Thornton who married John Barrett in 1870. Their names were taken from the 1901 and 1911 censuses.
