James TOBIN [Parents] was born in 1866 in probably Tullyval, Oakport, Co. Roscommon. He died in 1956. James married Ann (Annie) CONWAY on 27 Apr 1903 in Boyle registration district, Co. Roscommon.

Ann (Annie) CONWAY was born about 1876 in Co. Roscommon. Ann married James TOBIN on 27 Apr 1903 in Boyle registration district, Co. Roscommon.

According to the 1911 census, Annie and James had been married for eight years and had no children.

John CHEASTY died. John married Brigid FLAHAVAN.

John was a farmer.

Brigid FLAHAVAN [Parents] died. Brigid married John CHEASTY.

Brigid's family ran Flahavan's, the well-known oat milling company in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford.

Brigid and her husband, John, had four sons and at least one daughter, Mary, although we have names for only three boys. Two of the sons emigrated to Australia, one went to the United States and the remaining three, along with Mary, stayed in Ireland. We do not know which of the sons emigrated.

They had the following children.

  M i
Edward CHEASTY was born about 23 Mar 1855 in Co. Waterford. He was christened on 23 Mar 1855 in Portlaw, Co. Waterford. He died in probably 1916 in probably Clonmel, co. Tipperary.

It appears Edward, who was unmarried (at least up to the time of the 1911 census), lived with his sister Mary (Murphy) and her family in Clonmel, Co. Tipperaary. He is listed in the 1911 census as a retired draper.

An Edward Cheasty, aged 60, died in Clonmel in 1916. I believe this Edward to have been Mary Murphy's brother.
