Richard (Dick?) DOODY [Parents] was born 1900 in Ardnamoher, Galbally, Co. Limerick. He died date unknown. Richard married Margaret 'UNKNOWN'.

I'm told a Dick Doody inherited the family farm in Galbally and I think it likely it was Richard above who got the farm. The Dick Doody who inherited the farm married but had no children and the farm eventually passed to one of his wife's relatives. The old Doody family home no longer exists.

Margaret 'UNKNOWN' was born about 1905. She died 10 Dec 1991 in Limerick. Margaret married Richard (Dick?) DOODY.

I came across a death notice in a newspaper for a Margaret Doody of Ardnamoher in Galbally who died on 10 December 1991 in St. Camillus Hospital in Limerick. Based on this information a death certificate was located for Margaret which showed she was a farmer's widow from Ardnamoher and was 86 years of age. Prior to this we had no information whatsover on the wife, if any, of Richard, but my hunch is, assuming Richard inherited the Ardnamoher farm, that Margaret was Richard's wife. If it had been Richard's older brother, Michael, who inherited the farm (as one might have expected as he was the eldest son) then Margaret was probably the wife of Michael.

According to the newspaper death notice, Margaret was "deeply regretted by nieces and nephews" so it's possible she and her husband had no children. This would tie in with information I have been given that the Ardnamoher farm passed to relatives of Dick Doody's wife.
