There's an entry in Griffiths Valuation (carried out in 1851 for North Kerry) for a John Finucane of Clounprohus, where Bill and Mainanne had their farm. It's likely John and Bill were related; perhaps John was Bill's father.

Note that there's no documented blood connection between Bill and his wife's great-grandmother, Margaret Finucane (who married Richard Hudson). However I've been told the Finucanes of Kilcolgan, near Ballylongford, are related to Margaret ("fourth cousins of some type") and are very distantly related to Bill, although the exact connection to Bill isn't known.

Mary Anne (Mainanne) O'CONNOR [Parents] "Mainanne" was born 19 Apr 1874 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 11 Sep 1951 in Clounprohus, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was buried in Listowel, Co. Kerry. Mainanne married William (Bill) FINUCANE on 1899.

Winifred (Winnie) O'CARROLL [Parents] was born about 1907 in Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry. She died 10 Aug 2001 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Winifred married John R. SHANAHAN.

John and Winnie lived in Kilbaha, Moyvane.

John HANRAHAN [Parents] was born about 1852. He died 1918 in prob Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. John married Margaret CUNNINGHAM on 22 Feb 1887 in Murhur, Co. Kerry.

John's father, Paddy, was probably a brother of Michael Hanrahan who married Margaret's aunt, also named Margaret Cunningham. For further information on Paddy and Michael Hanrahan and their siblings, see the photo of the old scrap of paper, found in the back of a drawer, on the home page of www.hanrahanfamilytree.com.   

Witnesses to the marriage of Margaret and John were Myles Kearney and Kate Hanrahan. After their marriage, Margaret and John lived near the Scraghan River in the Gale Valley, just below Kilbaha. They later moved to Kilbaha.

According to the 1911 census Margaret and John had 12 children born alive, but only eight were alive in 1911 (all the children listed in the 1901 census were alive in 1911).

John and Margaret died within a week of each other in the flu epidemic of 1918.

Margaret CUNNINGHAM [Parents] was born Sep 1858 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 1918 in prob Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Margaret married John HANRAHAN on 22 Feb 1887 in Murhur, Co. Kerry.

Timothy (Fr. Tim) HANRAHAN was born 10 Jan 1895 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 16 Oct 1935 in USA.

Tim was ordained a priest in 1919 and ministered at St. Francis's Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was killed in a car accident aged only 40.

Note: A Fr. Michael Hanrahan, also from Kilbaha, who was a son of a Patrick Hanrahan and a Julia Shanahan, ministered in Florida. Given the Kilbaha connection, it seems likely that Tim and Michael were related, but I haven't yet been able to make a definite connection. Michael was born in 1933 and was ordained in 1959. He died in 1999 and is buried in Ahavoher Cemetery in Moyvane.

Ellen (Nellie) HANRAHAN was born about 1902 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died Dec 1957 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Ellen emigrated to the United States in 1921, joining her brother Tim in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Ellis Island records show that she arrived in New York on 8 November 1921, and that her occupation was a teacher.

At some point, Ellen was adopted by a family by the name of Dunn and, from then on, went by the name of Hanrahan Dunn.

John (Jack) CUNNINGHAM [Parents] died 1982 in New York. He married Mary 'UNKNOWN'.

Joe emigrated to the United States in August 1929 and settled in the Bronx, New York.

Mary 'UNKNOWN' was born in Lisheen, nr. Gneeveguilla, Co. Kerry. She died after 1982. Mary married John (Jack) CUNNINGHAM.

Thomas (Tom) STACK [Parents] was born 1855 in prob the Hill, Gortdromasillihy, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 22 Jul 1909 in prob Ballygoughlan, Glin, Co. Limerick and was buried in Murhur Cemetery, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Thomas married Ellen (Ellie) SHANAHAN on 10 Feb 1884.

Ellie was Tom's second wife, Tom's first wife, Nora (Nano) Kennelly, having died in childbirth along with the twins she was carrying.

Nora was a Mercy sister, professed on 19 September 1935, and was a hospital matron in Listowel, Co. Kerry.

Paddy was ordained a priest in Freiburg in Germany. He later served as a parish priest in California.
