Katie was a first cousin of Michael Gearty who married Charles's niece Emily Lavin.

Katie and Charles returned to Ireland from the United States in the 1920s and lived about a mile outside Carrick-on-Shannon on the Leitrim Village road.


Laurence O'HARA [Parents] was born about 20 Dec 1859 in Cloongreahen, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon and was christened 20 Dec 1859. He died in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Laurence married Sara O'LEARY on 25 Feb 1884 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon.

Laurence was well known in the Boyle area having been elected to the Boyle Town Commission. He also owned the Rockingham Arms Hotel which had previously been owned by his father-in-law. Laurence sold the hotel around 1905.

Sara O'LEARY [Parents] was born about 1855 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. She died Oct 1903 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon and was buried in Eastersnow, Co. Roscommon. Sara married Laurence O'HARA on 25 Feb 1884 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon.

Sara was an only child. Her father was the proprietor of the Rockingham Arms Hotel in Boyle.
