Catherine (Kate) HANRAHAN [Parents] was born about 1878 in Ahalana or Aughrim, Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry. She died 16 Mar 1965 and was buried in prob. Murher Cemetery, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Catherine married John (Jack) HUDSON.

Jack and Kate farmed in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Dan (D.J.) COLLINS was born about 1910. He died 8 Jan 2000. Dan married Margaret (Peg) HUDSON about 1949.

D.J. and Peg lived in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick before moving to Ballymacave, Croagh, Co. Limerick. They had a large family.

Margaret (Peg) HUDSON [Parents] was born about 1919 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 18 Dec 2003 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Margaret married Dan (D.J.) COLLINS about 1949.

Richard (Dick) HUDSON [Parents] was born 18 Mar 1918 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 5 Jul 1993 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Richard married Katherine MCGRATH.

John (Jack) CUNNINGHAM [Parents] was born 1 Jul 1901 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 7 Nov 1995 in the Bronx, New York. John married Nora BAKER on 1941 in prob New York.

Jack emigrated to the United States in 1925. He was known as 'Black Jack' because of the colour of his hair in his youth.

Nora BAKER was born in Ballinluchig, Dingle, Co. Kerry. She died before 7 Nov 1995 in the Bronx, New York. Nora married John (Jack) CUNNINGHAM on 1941 in prob New York.

Nora and Jack lived in the Bronx.

John STACK [Parents] was born 18 Jan 1925 in Moyvane South (Shronagraga), Co. Kerry. He died 18 Jan 2002 in prob Galway. John married Maureen FLEMING on 9 Sep 1952.

Maureen FLEMING was born 27 Mar 1924. She died 4 Jan 1991 in prob Galway. Maureen married John STACK on 9 Sep 1952.

John and Maureen lived in Rahelin Glebe, Ballybane, Galway.

Richard (Dick) STACK [Parents] was born 31 Jul 1926 in Moyvane South (Shronagraga), Co. Kerry. He died 23 Jan 2008 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Richard married Sheila O'KEEFFE on 18 Feb 1965.

Robert (Bob) BEHAN was born 25 Nov 1927. He died 18 Feb 1997. Robert married Bridie STACK on 21 Aug 1962.

Bob lived in Ballyegan, Lisselton, Co. Kerry.

William? HUDSON was born in prob Co. Kerry.

Much more information on the Hudsons is to be found in Bill's multiple-volume family history entitled 'The Hudsons of County Kerry and their Descendants' along with more recent works entitled 'The Hudsons of Tralee', 'The Hudsons of Kilbaha North', and 'The Hudsons of Ballyeagh' along with a study of land ownership in the townland of Kilbaha where Bill's Hudson ancestors settled, copies of which Bill has donated to Tralee and Listowel libraries in Co. Kerry. The National Library of Ireland in Dublin also has a copy of 'The Hudsons of County Kerry and their Descendants'. Bill researched his Hudson family history for over half a century and these very impressive works are the fruits of his labour. Note that advance notice needs to be given to the above libraries in order to view these volumes.  

It's not certain at all that the first name of Mr. Hudson above was William, but Bill's father thought it might have been. It is certain that William(?) above was connected to the prosperous Hudson family of Tralee but the exact relationship is not known. It's also known that William(?) above was Protestant, as were the Hudsons of Tralee. It's a possibility he was the William Hudson of Bunagarha, near Listowel, who was the grandfather of Edward Hudson, the prominent Kilbaha landlord, but we have no evidence to support this. Any assistance in establishing or disproving a connection would be much appreciated.  

In Ireland, the Hudson surname is most numerous in Dublin and East Leinster. It's an English name  meaning "son of Hudd", " Hudd" being a pet form of Hugh or Richard. Hudsons came to Ireland as settlers in the 17th century.

Edmond (Ned) HUDSON [Parents] was born 20 Mar 1881 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 23 Dec 1969 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Edmond married Johanna (Hannie) HANRAHAN on 1921.

Ned and his wife, Hannie, were second cousins - Hannie's grandmother was Johanna Hudson, sister of Ned's grandfather, Edmond Hudson.

Johanna (Hannie) HANRAHAN [Parents] was born 11 Mar 1891 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 7 Feb 1981 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Johanna married Edmond (Ned) HUDSON on 1921.

Hannie was also known as "Hannie John Paddy" (because her father's name was John and her grandfather's name was Paddy).
