It has been suggested that the late Denny Hanrahan (born abt 1915) of The Hill in Moyvane might be a descendant of Mike Denny above but I have no confirmation of this. Michael married Julia Scanlon about 1945 and they had a family.

James (Jim) HANRAHAN [Parents] was born in Kilbaha, Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry. He died date unknown.

There's a 1901 census return for the household of a James Hanrahan, aged 68, of Kilbaha North. It's possible that this James may be our Jim because both had children named John and Denis, but there's not enough evidence to suggest that this is definitely the case.

In Ahavoher Cemetery in Moyvane is the grave of James J. Hanrahan of Kilbaha who died 30 June 1990 aged 81. Could this be the grave of two-year-old son James above from the 1911 census. James J. is buried with his wife, Ellen (née Shanahan) who died on 8 September 1992, also aged 81.

In family notes (see homepage of www.hanrahanfamilytree.com), the word "sapper" and "Aust." (presumably meaning Australia) appear after Michael's name.

Cornelius (Corney) HANRAHAN [Parents] "Corney" was born in Kilbaha, Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry. He died date unknown. Corney married 'UNKNOWN'.

Hanrahan researchers may be interested in a Cornelius Hanrahan listed in one of www.ancestry.com's family trees. It's a possibility that that this Cornelius is the above Cornelius. The parents of the Cornelius on ancestry.com are John Hanrahan and Nora Keane. It's stated that Cornelius married a Mary Culhane, and there are six children of theirs listed in the family tree: Margaret Mary, John, Thomas, Nano, Kate and Ellen. There's information on Margaret Mary only: she was born in Leanamore, Co. Kerry; she married Michael Hickie from Puleen, Co. Kerry in 1878; and she died in Co. Kerry in 1925. Unfortunately there's little in the above information to prove that Margaret Mary's father is Cornelius Hanrahan above.

Another Cornelius Hanrahan, who may possibly be connected to Corney above, became a priest and served in East Malvern, Melbourne, Australia. Cornelius, who died on 20 September 1945, was the eldest son of Denis (who had died before Cornelius's death) and Mary Hanrahan from Aughrim, Moyvane.
