Daniel (Dan) KENNELLY [Parents] was born 1854 in Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry. He died 11 Aug 1887 in probably Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry. Daniel married Mary STACK on 31 Jul 1879.

Dan was the brother of Nano, the first wife of Tom Stack whose sister Dan would later marry. After Nano died in childbirth in 1877, Dan helped Tom on his farm, and that was how Dan met Tom's sister Mary, who had come from her home parish to live with Tom and help with the housekeeping.

Both Mary and Dan were only in their thirties when they died a year apart. According to a family source they both succumbed to 'fever'. Could this have been influenza?

Mary STACK [Parents] was born 1856 in probably the Hill, Gortdromasillihy, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 19 Jul 1886 in probably Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry. Mary married Daniel (Dan) KENNELLY on 31 Jul 1879.

After the death in December 1877 of Nano, the wife of her brother Tom, Mary moved from Gortdromasillihy to Gortdromagowna in  Knockanure, to help Tom with the housekeeping.

They had the following children:

Mary Anne (Sr. Berchmans) KENNELLY was born about 1882 in Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry. She died 1959 in England.

Mary Anne and her siblings were orphaned as young children after their parents died of 'fever' a year apart. They were raised by their uncle, Pats Kennelly and his wife, Ellen, with assistance from Pats' mother, Mary (née Griffin).

Mary Anne entered the convent, joining the Poor Servants of the Mother of God. She lived in England.
  M iii Jeremiah (Jerry) Daniel KENNELLY was born about 1881 and died 1953.

Patrick or Richard HEALY was born in Clontubrid, Listowel, Co. Kerry. He died date unknown. Patrick married Johanna FLAHERTY about 1906.

Johanna FLAHERTY [Parents] was born 1874 in Glenalappa, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She married Patrick or Richard HEALY about 1906.

They had the following children:

Tom worked for a number of years on the farm of his Stack relatives at the Hill in Moyvane, and intermittently on Jim Stack's farm in Moyvane South.

Denis (Denny) FLAHERTY [Parents] "Denny" was born 1876 in Glenalappa, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He married Catherine (Kate) FEIGH.

Catherine (Kate) FEIGH died date unknown. She married Denis (Denny) FLAHERTY.

Denny and Kate lived in Kinard, Glin, Co. Limerick.

Edward (Eddie, Neddy) O'FLAHERTY was born about 1912. He died 22 Jan 1979 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Edward married Eileen O'FLAHERTY.

Eddie and Eileen lived in Ahalana, Moyvane. Eddie was an uncle of Sheila Stack (née O'Keeffe) of Moyvane South, another person whose name is listed in these family trees.

Eileen O'FLAHERTY [Parents] was born about 1915. She died 27 Apr 1999 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. Eileen married Edward (Eddie, Neddy) O'FLAHERTY.

Bill Jamesie, Nora and their family lived in Aughrim on a farm bought from Arthur Clondillon.

Mary Jo and Mossie lived in Barragougeen, Moyvane.

Note: A brother of Mossie, the late Mickie, who was unmarried, lived with an aunt, Babe Bunce, who was married to Jack "Slate" O'Connor from Clounbrane, Moyvane (thus named because he was the only man in the parish who had a slate roof). Mossie has five other siblings: Sr. Emelian (1918-2004), Mary (deceased), Paddy (deceased), Con, Eileen and Peggy.

Mary Josephine (Mary Jo) FLAHERTY [Parents] was born in Aughrim, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died date unknown. Mary married Maurice (Mossie) BUNCE.
