Jeremiah HUDSON [Parents] was born about 1830 in probably Duagh, Co. Kerry. He died 20 May 1905 in Chicago and was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, Illinois. Jeremiah married Martha MCLOUGHLIN about 1864 in probably Philadelphia area.

Jeremiah emigrated to the United States in 1860. He and his family lived in New Jersey before settling in Chicago. It's believed Jeremiah lived with his daughter, Clara, and her family after the death of Martha, his wife.

Martha MCLOUGHLIN was born 1835 in Pennsylvania or Ireland. She died before 1900. Martha married Jeremiah HUDSON about 1864 in probably Philadelphia area.

Francis (Frank) HUDSON died young.

Mary (Sr. Mary Bernadette) HUDSON was born 6 Jul 1864 in Harrisonville, New Jersey. She died 11 May 1925 in Chicago.

F iii Clara HUDSON was born Nov 1865 and died 1939.

F iv Margaret (Maggie) HUDSON was born about 1868 and died Mar 1952.

F v Johanna HUDSON was born 1872 and died 1937.

William (Willie) HUDSON "Willie" was born 19 Sep 1873. He died 24 Dec 1879.

Francis (Frank) John HUDSON [Parents] was born about 1831 in probably Duagh, Co. Kerry. He died 9 Nov 1898 in Philadelphia and was buried in Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia. Francis married Margaret FINNIGAN on 21 Apr 1869 in Church of the Annunciation, Philadelphia.

Frank emigrated to the United States with his younger brother Patrick in 1853. He was a Marine in the Civil War and saw service on the Roanoke with Patrick. Frank settled in Philadelphia where he worked as a plasterer. I've been told Frank and his wife, Margaret, were second cousins once removed and were married by special dispensation. However if they were related, as is thought, through Margaret's Finucane grandfather (probably named Frank) who it's believed was a brother of Frank Hudson's mother, Margaret Finucane, then they would have been first cousins once removed.
According to Bill Hudson's 'The Hudsons of County Kerry and their Descendants', Frank had a cousin named Kate Hudson (1848-1888) who emigrated to the United States and lived with Frank and his family. It's not clear how exactly Kate fits in to the Hudson family tree. Kate married a Mr. McKay or Mackey and they had a daughter, Maria, who was raised by Frank and his wife.

Margaret FINNIGAN [Parents] was born 1842 in Philadelphia. She died 25 Nov 1919 in Philadelphia. Margaret married Francis (Frank) John HUDSON on 21 Apr 1869 in Church of the Annunciation, Philadelphia.

Margaret and her husband, Frank Hudson, were either first or second cousins once removed (through the Finnigans - the family changed their name from Finucane after their arrival in the United States).
It appears Margaret, Frank and their family may have been living with Margaret's parents in 1880 because they're listed in the 1880 census return for Margaret's parents' household.

Margaret (Maggie) HUDSON was born 1870 in Philadelphia. She died 1921 in Philadelphia and was buried in Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Johanna (Josie) C. HUDSON was born 1872 in Philadelphia. She died 1918 in Philadelphia and was buried in Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Johanna died of flu in the 1918 epidemic.

Francis (Frank) HUDSON was born 1875 in Philadelphia. He died 1 Jan 1890 in Philadelphia and was buried in Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Frank, who was known as 'Lefty', died of TB, the result of drinking water from a pump near the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Richard HUDSON was born 1876 in Philadelphia. He died 23 Jan 1896 in Philadelphia and was buried in Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Richard died of diphtheria.

M v

Alexander HUDSON was born 1878 in Philadelphia. He died 18 Oct 1955 in Philadelphia and was buried in Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia.

F vi Mary HUDSON was born 17 Mar 1881 and died 23 Nov 1978.

F vii Helen (Ella) Cecilia HUDSON was born 13 Feb 1883 and died 15 Feb 1973.

Jeanette (Jennie) HUDSON was born 1889. She died 22 Feb 1890 and was buried in Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Jennie did of whooping cough.

John SWEENEY [Parents] died 1931 and was buried in the Abbey, Mourneabbey, Co. Cork. He married Elizabeth 'UNKNOWN'.

Elizabeth 'UNKNOWN' was born about 1868. She died Apr 1960 and was buried in the Abbey, Mourneabbey, Co. Cork. Elizabeth married John SWEENEY.

Daniel (Dan) ENRIGHT was born in possibly Pulleen, Tarbert, Co. Kerry. He married Ellen MCELLIGOTT.

Dan opened a pub and general store on Main St. in Moyvane which is run today (as a pub only) by Dan's great-great-grandson, Dermot Enright. The original bar was knocked down in 1967 to build a new one.

Ellen MCELLIGOTT was born in Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She married Daniel (Dan) ENRIGHT.
