I am assuming that Myles, above, was the Myles Kearney who married Maggie Culhane and who had a daughter called Pidge whom we know to have been connected to our Cunningham family.

Myles was shopkeeper and publican in Moyvane village. He may also at some point have been a building contractor.

Myles married Margaret (Maggie) CULHANE, daughter of 'unknown' CULHANE and Bridget 'UNKNOWN', about 1900. Margaret was born about 1870 in Askeaton, Co. Limerick.

According to the 1911 census, Maggie and Myles had been married 11 years and had six children born alive, five of whom were alive at the time of the census.

It's known Jimmy lived in the United States. There's a headstone in Ahavoher Cemetery in Moyvane on which a James Kearney of Chicago, who died on 23 March 1965, is named, along with Paddy Kearney, brother of Jimmy above. It's a possibility therefore that James of Chicago is Jimmy above.

According to one source John died in his teens, and according to another he died on 25 February 1948 in Moyvane.

Myles KEARNEY died 18 Jul 1979 in Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Myles was educated at St. Michael's College, Listowel, Co. Kerry after which he studied for the priesthood at St. Patrick's College in Carlow. He was ordained in 1938 and was sent to the United State to serve in the diocese of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He subsequently worked in Louisiana, initially in Baton Rouge, and was later appointed parish priest at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in St. Francisville in Louisiana where he spent 18 years.

Myles retired about 1973. He died at the home of his sister Bunty only a short time after returning to Ireland to live.

Sarah (Sr. Lydia de Eugena) KEARNEY was born about 1914. She died 2003 in Raheny, Dublin.

Sarah joined the order of the Little Sisters of the Poor and spent a number of years in France. At the time of the death of her mother in 1957 Sarah was serving at St. Mary's Home in Cork, but she later moved to Dublin.

Note: There's a baptismal record dated 22 May 1883 for a Margaret Cronin, daughter of Tom and Johanna, which doesn't tie in with the birth record located for Nora which gives her birth date as 20 January 1883. Was there a mistake made with a date or were Margaret and Nora the same person?

Honora married John ROCHE in possibly San Francisco. John died date unknown.
