Descendants of Patrick Gordon

Thomas Gordon (1880-1937) was a son of John Gordon and Mary O'Connor of Sheepwalk, Frenchpark, Co. Roscommon, and a grandson of Patrick Gordon and Mary French.

Thomas left school at the age of 16, joined the British Army and served in the Boer War in 1897. He then returned to school and went on to qualify as a vet. He subsequently rejoined the British Army as an officer in the Royal Army Veterinary Corp and specialised in equine medicine.

Following service in World War I Thomas retired from the army and returned to Ireland where he set up a practice in Mohill, Co. Leitrim. He married Margaret Reynolds and they had 12 children.
