This photograph of Elizabeth Jeffares (née O'Hara) and her children was taken in New Zealand probably in the late 1920s. Standing, left to right: Joseph, Agnes and Annie. Seated: Charlotte, Mary, Elizabeth and Robert. Missing from picture: Thomas.

Elizabeth, who was born  in 1858 in Glooria, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon, emigrated to New Zealand where she met her husband, Joseph Jeffares, whose parents were Irish-born. Joseph died in 1902 and Elizabeth died in the earthquake that struck Napier in 1931.  

Elizabeth was a first cousin of Jane Lavin and Mud O'Hara (see earlier photos).
