Jane Lavin (née O'Hara), pictured here with her youngest child, Kieran (Fr. Damian), was born in 1848 in Cloongreghan, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon to Laurence O'Hara and Catherine Mulloy.

In 1869 she married Patrick Lavin of Ardgallagher, Kilmore, Co. Roscommon. They lived in Ardgallagher where they raised 12 children.

This picture was taken in 1917 on the occasion of the ordination of Fr. Damian, a member of the Order of Passionates. Less than two years later Fr. Damian died from complications arising from diabetes. He was only 26 years of age.

Jane was a granddaughter of William O'Hara, and a first cousin of Elizabeth Jeffares and Mary "Mud" O'Hara (see earlier photos).
