Brothers John (on left) and Denis McEnery were born in Tubbertureen, Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry to Michael McEnery of Tubbertureen and Mary Hudson of Kilbaha, Newtownsandes. Mary was a sister of Margaret Hudson (see earlier photo).

Mary and Michael had 11 children, seven of whom lived to adulthood. Three of the seven - John, Denis and their sister Hannah - emigrated to the United States.
