Hussey Photos

Henry Hussey (known as Harry) was born in 1872 in Kensington, London, one of the 11 children of Thomas Hussey and Agnes Devine. He lived for a time in South Africa prior to moving to Canada where he was working as a builder's clerk when World War I broke out. He joined the Canadian Army and was sent to France in August 1915 with the 4th Battalion of the 1st Canadian Brigade. Harry was killed at Ypres in June 1916 when a shell landed in his trench. He was 43 years old.

Harry does not have a marked grave but is named on the Menin Gate Memorial, one of a number of memorials to the missing in Belgian Flanders.
