We think this photo shows Martin Hussey, born in 1901 in Hammersmith, London, to James Hussey and Jane Butler (see earlier photos).
The photo, from a family collection, was taken in 1917. On the back appears to be written "Gunner M.E. Hussey" followed by "Siege Battery H.A.C.". However Martin would only have been 16 or 17 years of age in 1917 (although he could have lied about his age to sign up). Furthermore we had thought that Martin's middle initial was J rather than E. While we feel, on balance, that this photo is that of our Martin Hussey, help in positively identifying the person pictured would be much appreciated.
After the war Martin worked with his brothers Stephen and Austin in the family building business, Hussey Bros. (Builders) Ltd., based in Queensway, Bayswater, London. He married Marie Hurst in 1942 and they lived in Ealing in London before moving to Brook Green, Hammersmith. Martin and Marie had no children. Martin died in London in 1969.
