London-born Una Hussey was a daughter of Stephen Hussey and Mary Ryan (see earlier photos). As a young woman she moved to Dublin where she studied at the National College of Art. She married Dubliner Tom Roantree and they had 10 children.

Una was a first cousin of Monica and Ursula Hussey (see earlier photos).
