Jane Hussey (née Butler) was born in Kensington, London in 1868 to George Butler, a musical instrument maker, and Jane Lynch. In 1891 Jane married solicitor James Hussey (see previous photo), whose elder brother Thomas had married Jane’s elder sister, Mary (see earlier photos), five years earlier.

Jane and James lived in Hammersmith, London and had seven children: Michael, Philip and Stephen, Nan, Martin, Winnie and Austin. Michael and Nan became civil servants; Winnie worked as a teacher; and Stephen, Martin and Austin ran their own building company. Sadly, Philip died in France in 1916, a casualty of World War I. Jane herself died in Hammersmith in 1946, 10 years after the death of James.
