Noel Treacy was born in 1926 in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary to Thomas Treacy and Ellen O'Sullivan (see earlier photo). After leaving school, Noel went into the family fuel business, located on the Quay in Carrick. He married Ella Meany and they had five children.

All his life Noel was very involved in local activities, from Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society productions to involvement in the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Castleview Lawn Tennis Club. Noel was still playing tennis regularly until shortly before his death in 2009 at the age of 82.
