DESCENDANTS OF Anne HUNT (to contribute information, please email Helen@HelensFamilyTrees.com)

Third Generation

(Continued)

32. Ellen MORRIS (Bridget GORDON , Anne ) was born about 30 Mar 1851 and was christened 30 Mar 1851 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon.

Ellen married Timothy HIGGINS on 16 Feb 1871 in Fairymount Church. Timothy was born about 1835.

It's possible Timothy was a brother of Patrick Higgins who married Mary Frain on 7 February 1866 in Loughglynn. Mary was a daughter of Thomas Frain from Barnacawley in Fairymount and Mary Coffey. Patrick Higgins and Mary Frain had seven children - Thomas, Maria, John, Patrick, Eliza, Julia and Catherine - born between 1866 and 1879, six in Cloonfinglas in Fairymount and one in Stonepark, also in Fairymount. This information comes from Michael Frain, a great-grandson of Thomas Frain and Mary Coffey. Michael would be very grateful for any additional information on his Frain family. He can be contacted at michaelfrain@talktalk.net

They had the following children:

  147 F i
Maria HIGGINS was born 29 Nov 1871.
  148 M ii
William HIGGINS was born 12 Jul 1873.
  149 F iii
Catherine Jane HIGGINS was born 15 Aug 1875.
  150 M iv
Timothy HIGGINS was born about 1 Apr 1877 and was christened 1 Apr 1877 in Fairymount, Co. Roscommon.
  151 M v
Michael HIGGINS was born 1 Nov 1879.
  152 F vi
Ellen HIGGINS was born 29 Aug 1881.
  153 M vii
Thomas HIGGINS was born about 8 Apr 1882 and was christened 8 Apr 1882 in Fairymount, Co. Roscommon.

36. Margaret MORRIS (Bridget GORDON , Anne ) was born about 23 Sep 1858 and was christened 23 Sep 1858 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon.

Margaret married James HELBERT on 31 Jan 1878 in Fairymount Church.

Helbert is an unusual name. There are entries in Griffiths Valuation for Helberts, mostly in Kilteevin (Castlerea) but there are no returns for Helbert in the 1901 census. By the time of the 1911 census, however, there are at least three Helbert families living in Co. Roscommon. Census details of one of these families, which appears to be that of James above, follow:

James (70), widower
Michael (28), son
Catherine (30), daughter-in-law
Michael (1), grandson
Thomas (3 months), grandson
Michael and Catherine had been married for three years and had two children born alive, both of whom were alive at the time of the census.

They had the following children:

  154 F i
Mary HELBERT was born about 1 Jun 1879 and was christened 1 Jun 1879 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon.
  155 M ii
Martin HELBERT was born 1 Oct 1881.
  156 M iii
Michael HELBERT was born about 22 Apr 1882 and was christened 22 Apr 1882 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon. He died probably as an infant.
  157 M iv
James HELBERT was born about 22 Apr 1882 and was christened 22 Apr 1882 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon.
  158 M v
Michael HELBERT was born about 5 Oct 1883 and was christened 5 Oct 1883 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon.

It's likely Michael married and had a family as I believe I may have located a 1911 census record for him. Please see the notes for his father, James, above for details.

However Ellis Island records show the arrival in New York on 15 February 1908 of a Michael Helbert from Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. He was 22 and was joining a cousin, John Gordon, in Washington, D.C. The name of his nearest relative in Ireland is given as Edward Morris, an uncle, of Clerragh, Frenchpark, Co. Roscommon. It's possible this Michael is or Michael above, although our Michael's mother, as far as we know, didn't have a brother named Edward. If the Michael Helbert who emigrated is indeed our Michael, then he may have returned to the farm in Clerragh a couple of years later (see notes on his father, James, above for more information). And if if was our Michael who emigrated, then it's possible his cousin, John Gordon, who is mentioned on the Ellis Island record was his first cousin once removed who was the son of Thomas Gordon and Anne Foley.
  159 F vi
Bridget HELBERT was born about 8 Jun 1884 and was christened 8 Jun 1884 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon.

40. Bridget GORDON (Michael GORDON , Anne ) was born about 1849 in Aughalustia, Co. Roscommon. She died about 1906 and was buried in Urlaur (or Orlar) Abbey, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo.

It's known Bridget died at the age of 56. Her grave, in Urlaur Abbey, is unmarked.

Bridget married John IRWIN on 27 Apr 1869 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. John was born about 1840.

Eliza Flannery witnessed the marriage of John and Bridget.

They had the following children:

+ 160 M i Michael Francis IRWIN died 24 Jun 1956.
  161 F ii
Anne IRWIN was born in Leveelick, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died in probably U.S..

Anne emigrated to the United States.

Anne married 'unknown' KING. 'unknown' died in probably U.S..

Anne and her husband had no children.
  162 F iii
Mary IRWIN was born in Leveelick, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died in probably U.S..

Mary emigrated to the United States.

Mary married 'unknown' GIBBS. 'unknown' died in probably U.S..

Mary and her husband had no children.
+ 163 F iv Arabella IRWIN was born about 1876.
  164 M v Cornelius IRWIN
  165 M vi
John IRWIN was born in Leveelick, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. He died in probably U.S..

  167 M viii
Edward Patrick IRWIN was born 1 Nov 1880 in Leveelick, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo.

Edward, who never married, farmed in Leevalick.
+ 168 F ix Ellen IRWIN was born 11 Mar 1882 and died 28 Nov 1916.
+ 169 F x Bridget IRWIN was born 26 Jul 1883 and died 5 or 6 Oct 1948.
  170 M xi
Cormac Henry IRWIN was born 17 Oct 1884 in Leveelick, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. He died in probably England.

Cormac lived in England.

42. Anne? GORDON (Caution: name, husband and children not verified) (Michael GORDON , Anne ) was born about 1861 in probably Aughalustia, Co. Roscommon. She died possibly 12 Feb 1937 in possibly Cloonkeen, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.

It's pure speculation that this daughter of Michael and Anne was named Anne and that she married Dominick Bligh. From family notes it's known that Michael and Anne had three sons and four daughters. The names of the three sons and three of the daughters have been verified, but the name of the fourth daughter isn't certain. The reason it's thought it might be Anne is because of correspondence (via leitrim-roscommmon.com) with Mick Pythian, a great-grandson of Dominick Bligh who was a farmer from Castlerea and who, in 1876, married an Anne Gordon from Aughalustia whose father's name was Michael.

Our Michael Gordon farmed in Aughalustia, and according to Cormac Gordon (son of Cormac Gordon and Mary Morahan), our Gordons were distantly related to a Bligh family from Castlerea who were "egglers" (they bought eggs from farmers' wives and sold them on), but he wasn't sure of the exact relationship. It's quite possible that these Blighs who were egglers were part of the Bligh family into which Mick Phythian's great-grandmother married. And it's possible, given the Aughalustia connection, and the fact that Mick's Anne Gordon had a father named Michael and was born about 1861 (this from the 1901 census), which fits in with the dates of birth of our Michael's children, that Anne might well be the "fourth" daughter of our Michael Gordon and Anne Finn.

Anne? married Dominick BLIGH, son of James BLIGH and Mary CONRY, on 17 Feb 1876 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. Dominick was born 1833 in probably Castlerea, Co . Roscommon and was christened 8 Mar 1833 in Castlerea, Co . Roscommon. He died 29 Apr 1920.

They had the following children:

+ 171 M i James Joseph BLIGH was born 13 Feb 1877 and died 8 Feb 1948.
  172 F ii
Mary Anne BLIGH was born 1878 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and was christened 27 Jan 1878 in Castlerea, Co . Roscommon. She died 29 Mar 1964.

Sponsors at Mary Anne's baptism were Michael Gordon and Margaret Bligh.
  173 F iii
Margaret BLIGH was born 1879 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and was christened 11 Jan 1879 in Castlerea, Co . Roscommon.

Margaret may have died as a child because another Margaret was born in 1886.
  174 F iv
Eleanora Teresa BLIGH was born 1881 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and was christened 23 Oct 1881 in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.

Sponsors at Eleanora's baptism were Patrick Gordon and Eleanora Gordon.
  175 M v
Michael BLIGH was born 1882 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. He died 13 Feb 1949 in Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.
  176 F vi
Margaret (Maggie) BLIGH was born 1886 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and was christened 18 Sep 1886 in Castlerea, Co . Roscommon. She died 12 Jul 1943 in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.

Margaret became a nun. She died in the Brigidine convent in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.
  177 M vii
Patrick Joseph BLIGH was born possibly 1887 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. He died 28 Nov 1917 in France and was buried in Rocquigny-Equancourt Road Cemetery.

Private Patrick Bligh, 14391, 3rd Ballalion Grenadier Guards, died in the Battle of the Somme of wounds sustained in the attack on Fontaine.
  178 F viii
Catherine (Kate) BLIGH was born 1889 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and was christened 23 Feb 1889 in Castlerea, Co . Roscommon. She died 19 Feb 1961 in Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.
  179 M ix
John Joseph BLIGH was born 1891 in probably Cloonkeen West, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and was christened 17 Oct 1891 in Castlerea, Co . Roscommon.

John married Hilda HUTCHCROFT in St. Mary's Church, Dukinfield, Cheshire.
  180 F x Martha BLIGH

44. Honoria GORDON (Michael GORDON , Anne ) was born about 3 Nov 1865 in probably Aughalustia, Co. Roscommon and was christened 3 Nov 1865 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon.

Sponsors at Honoria's baptism were John Gordon and Anna Gordon.

Honoria married T. DILLON (caution: not verified). T. DILLON (caution: not verified) died date unknown.

It's only speculation that Honoria married Mr. Dillon: it's known that one of Michael's and Anne's daughters married a T. Dillon, but we don't know which one. Because Honoria is the only daughter for whom we have no marriage information, it's being assumed that it was she who married Mr. Dillon.

They had the following children:

181 M i John DILLON (caution: not verified)
182 M ii Michael DILLON (caution: not verified)
183 M iii Harry DILLON (caution: not verified)

45. Ellen GORDON (Michael GORDON , Anne ) was born Nov 1867 in Aughalustia, Co. Roscommon and was christened 24 Nov 1867 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. She died before 2 Apr 1911 in probably Aughalustia, Co. Roscommon.

Ellen and her husband were first cousins. They lived at Aughalustia Lodge in Aughalustia, Ballaghaderreen.

According to Ellen's birth certificate, she was born on 20 January 1868. Because christenings unsually took place a day or two after birth and were registered at the time, and because births were often registered a couple of months after the event, the date on a baptismal record is often a more accurate reflection of the date of birth than the date on a birth certificate. For this reason it's being assumed that Ellen was born in November 1867 rather than January 1868.

Ellen married Cormac GORDON, son of Patrick GORDON and Mary FRENCH, in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. Cormac was born about 1848 in Fairymount, Co. Roscommon. He died in probably Aughalustia, Co. Roscommon.

Cormac's wife, Ellen, was his first cousin (a daughter of of his uncle, Michael). Cormac and Ellen lived in Aughalustia and according to family notes, they had four sons and one daughter. There's a 1901 census return for a "Cormack" Gordon in Aghalustia with a wife, Ellen, FIVE sons and a daughter listed. It's probable that this return relates to our Cormac Gordon and his first cousin Ellen and their family. It's from this census return that we have the names and approximate years of birth of Cormac's and Ellen's children, and the approximate year of birth of Cormac.

They had the following children:

  184 M i Patrick GORDON is printed as #88.
+ 185 M ii Michael GORDON is printed as #89.
186 M iii John Joseph GORDON is printed as #90.
187 M iv Cormac GORDON is printed as #91.
188 M v Thomas Francis GORDON is printed as #92.
+ 189 F vi Dorothy (Dora) Mary GORDON is printed as #93.

46. Catherine (Kathleen) J. GORDON (Thomas GORDON , Anne ) was born 15 Apr 1858 in Kilgarriff, Fairymount, Co. Roscommon and was christened 18 Apr 1858 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon. She died 26 Feb 1927 in Dublin and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Catherine married William CLARKE on 22 Aug 1883 in Fairymount Church. William was born about 1851 in Co. Roscommon. He died 28 Jul 1928 in probably Dublin and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

William was a farmer, a miller and a justice of the peace. He and Kathleen lived in Castlemore House in Castlemore, near Ballagherreen, Co. Roscommon for a number of years before moving sometime after 1910 to Dublin where they lived at 6 Elgin Road in Ballsbridge.

According to the 1911 census, William and Kathleen had been married for 27 years and had nine children born alive, eight of whom were alive at the time of the census (Gordon having died in 1897).

They had the following children:

  190 M i
Thomas Gordon (Gordon) CLARKE was born 2 Jun 1884 in Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon and was christened 28 Dec 1884 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. He died 1897 in Co. Sligo.

Gordon died in a drowning accident while at school (boarding school?) in Co. Sligo.
+ 191 M ii John Joseph CLARKE was born 31 Jul 1885 and died 1975.
+ 192 M iii Herbert Eustace (Bertie) CLARKE was born 24 Apr 1887 and died 28 Jun 1945.
  193 F iv
Anne Clare CLARKE was born about 9 Dec 1888 in Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon and was christened 9 Dec 1888 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. She died possibly 1926.

It's known that Anne died as a young woman. A death record has been located on the FamilySearch website for an Annie Clare Clarke who died aged 35 in 1926 in the Castlereagh registration district of Co. Roscommon, which may relate to our Anne above.
  194 F v
Gertrude (Gertie) CLARKE was born 16 Nov 1890 in Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon and was christened 23 Nov 1890 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. She died 1960 in London.

Gertie was a nurse. Prior to her marriage she worked in St. Vincent's Hospital in Dublin.

Gertrude married Joseph (Joe) DOYLE, son of Arthur Joseph DOYLE and Mary Jane 'UNKNOWN'. Joseph died after 1960 in London.

Joe and his wife, Gertie, got to know each other in St. Vincent's Hospital in Dublin where Joe's father was a patient and Gertie was a nurse. Gertie's aunt Sr. Jerome Gordon, who also worked in the hospital, apparently engineered their union: she instructed Gertie to look after Joe's father after Gertie's first cousin Kathleen O'Hara, a previous carer of Joe's father, had married Joe's brother Arthur (a result, it's believed, of another match-making effort by Sr. Jerome).

Joe was a doctor. He and Gertie, who had no children, lived in Ealing in London.
  195 F vi
Mary (May) Christina CLARKE was born 17 Apr 1892 in Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon and was christened 7 May 1892 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. She died 1981 in Brighton, England.

May was a doctor and lived in England. She never married.
  196 F vii
Kathleen CLARKE was born 23 Jun 1895 in Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. She died 1987 in England.

Kathleen was a nurse. She lived in the south of England.
+ 197 F viii Margaret Mary (Rita) CLARKE was born 13 Jun 1897 and died 1972.
  198 F ix
Edith (Edie, Nuala) CLARKE was born 14 Jan 1899 in Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon and was christened 20 Jan 1899 in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. She died possibly 1989 in Hampshire, England.

Edie was also called Nuala, and in fact insisted on being called Nuala in her latter years. She lived in England and never married.

47. Bridget (Bea) GORDON (Thomas GORDON , Anne ) was born 7 Jun 1859 in Kilgarriff, Fairymount, Co. Roscommon and was christened 11 Jun 1859 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon. She died 5 Sep 1949 and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

There's a record in the LDS Vital Records Index for the christening in Loughglynn of a Bridget Gordon, daughter of Thomas Gordon and Anne Foley. The date of the christening ties in with the date of birth provided by the family (June 1859) and not with the information on Kathleen in the 1901 census which indicates that she was born about 1865.

Bridget married Laurence O'HARA, son of Laurence O'HARA and Eleanor (Ellen) MEEHAN, on 18 Jul 1886 in Fairymount Church. Laurence was born about 30 Mar 1856 in Cootehall, Co. Roscommon and was christened 30 Mar 1856. He died 12 Jan 1928 and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Laurence and Elizabeth were twins.

Sponsors at  Laurence's baptism were Laurence O'Hara and Winifred Hunt.

The O'Hara family is twice connected to another family being researched - the Gordon family of Kilgarriff, Fairymount, Co. Roscommon. Laurence married Bridget Gordon; and Mary Morahan, a niece of Laurence, married Bridget's younger brother, Cormac.

They had the following children:

  199 M i
John Gordon O'HARA was born about 1 Nov 1887 in probably Clegna, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon and was christened 1 Nov 1887 in Cootehall, Co. Roscommon. He died young.
+ 200 F ii Evelyn Mary O'HARA was born about 13 Jul 1889 and died 1954.
  201 F iii
Florence Mary (Sr. Margaret) O'HARA was born about 14 Mar 1891 in probably Clegna, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon and was christened 14 Mar 1891 in Cootehall, Co. Roscommon. She died 1968.
  202 M iv
Joseph O'HARA was born about 21 May 1892 in probably Clegna, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon and was christened 21 May 1892 in Cootehall, Co. Roscommon. He died possibly before 1902.

Joseph's name isn't among the names of Bea's and Laurence's children as provided by the family, nor is he listed in the 1901 census. However a baptismal record for a Joseph O'Hara, born to Laurence O'Hara and Bridget Gordon, was located by the Co. Roscommon Heritage and Genealogy Company. It's possible that Joseph died as a child. A sister named Josephine was born a year and a half later - perhaps she was named in memory of Joseph.
  203 F v
Josephine (Sr. Austin Camillus) O'HARA was born about 19 Nov 1893 in probably Clegna, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon and was christened 19 Nov 1893 in Cootehall, Co. Roscommon. She died 1983.

Sr. Austin Camillus was a member of the Sisters of Charity order.
  204 M vi
Laurence O'HARA was born in probably Clegna, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon. He died young (poss bef 1902).
+ 205 F vii Bridget (Bertha) O'HARA was born about 14 Dec 1896 and died 1 Oct 1948.
+ 206 F viii Kathleen Mary O'HARA was born 1900 and died 4 Dec 1984.
  207 F ix
Maud O'HARA was born 1909 in probably Clegna, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon. She died 21 Feb 1976 and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Maud was a nurse.

Maud married Oliver MCMAHON. Oliver died date unknown.

Oliver and Maud had no children.

48. Michael John GORDON (Thomas GORDON , Anne ) was born May 1861 in Kilgarriff, Fairymount, Co. Roscommon and was christened 19 May 1861 in Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon. He died 26 Jun 1938 in probably Paeroa, New Zealand and was buried 27 Jun 1938 in Pukerimu Cemetery, Paeroa, New Zealand.

Michael left Ireland as a result of a disagreement with his father. The story goes that Michael's father was annoyed that his son was spending so much time training a horse for racing when he should have been working on the farm. Without telling Michael, he sold the horse (which, incidentially, went on to do very well as a racehorse in England). Some time later, Michael was sent to the cattle market to sell two animals. He never returned. The proceeds of the sale were used to purchase his passage to Australia. It's thought he travelled to Australia with his cousin, Robert Gordon. After a short time in Australia, Michael moved to New Zealand and settled in Paeroa. He continued to work with horses and owned a magnificent set of drays which he used in his haulage business. He maintained his interest in horse-racing for the rest of his life.

Michael was buried alongside his wife (Section ROC, Plot 563 in Pukerimu Cemetery).

Michael married Sarah Bridget MURPHY, daughter of James MURPHY and Johanna CRONIN, in 1888 in Auckland, New Zealand. Sarah was born 1866 in Arch Hill, Auckland. She died 10 Nov 1914 in probably Paeroa, New Zealand and was buried 12 Nov 1914 in Pukerimu Cemetery, Paeroa, New Zealand.

Sarah was only 48 years of age when she died. She is buried in Section ROC (Roman Catholic?), Plot 563 of Pukerimu Cemetery in Paeroa.

Sharron Peters, a descendant of  Sarah's sister Lena, is researching her Murphy and Cronin family history. If you have additional information on either of these families that you would like to share, Sharron would be delighted to hear from you. She can be contacted at sharron.vic.peters@orcon.net.nz.

They had the following children:

+ 208 M i Alfred James GORDON was born 1890 and died 1918.
+ 209 M ii Albert Joseph GORDON was born 1892 and died 1972.
+ 210 F iii Monica (Mona) GORDON was born 1895 and died 1984.
  211 M iv
Francis (Frank) GORDON was born 1900 in New Zealand. He died 1976.

Frank never married.
+ 212 F v Sheila GORDON was born 1908 and died 2002.

Lizzie lived in Dublin towards the end of her life.

Eliza married John MCDONNELL, son of Alexander MCDONNELL and Ellen KENNY, on 28 Apr 1892 in Fairymount Church. John was born about 1860 in Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. He died Dec 1922 and was buried in Dominican Abbey Monastery, Orlar, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo.

John and Lizzie lived in Woodlawn, Kilmovee.

They had the following children:

  213 M i
Alexander (Alex) John MCDONNELL was born about 20 Apr 1893 in Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo and was christened 22 Apr 1893 in Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. He died Oct 1920 and was buried in Dominican Abbey Monastery, Orlar, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo.

Alex died of blood poisoning following an injury to his arm with a scythe.
  214 F ii
Anne (Annie) MCDONNELL was born about 28 Feb 1895 in Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo and was christened 2 Mar 1895 in Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died 10 Jun 1976 in Dublin and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Annie was a nurse and lived in London before returning to Ireland. She never married. She lived on Morehampton Road in Dublin with her sisters, Eva and Emma.
+ 215 M iii Thomas (Tom) Francis MCDONNELL was born 17 or 18 June 1897 and died 14 Feb 1963.
+ 216 M iv Michael George MCDONNELL was born about 3 Aug 1900 and died mid-1990s.
  217 F v
Mary MCDONNELL was born 22 Feb 1903 in Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo and was christened 17 Mar 1903 in Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died probably in infancy.

It's possible Mary died as an infant as another daughter named Mary was born the following year to John and Lizzie.
  218 F vi
Mary Elizabeth (Sr. Mary Walter) MCDONNELL was born 7 Apr 1904 in Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo and was christened 10 Apr 1904 in Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died 1981.

Sr. Mary Walter was a member of the Sisters of Charity order in Dublin.
  219 F vii
Emma MCDONNELL was born 11 May 1910 in Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died 2 May 1982 in Dublin and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Emma was a matron in Clongowes College and in St. Vincent's Hospital (there's a library named after her in St. Vincent's). She never married. She and her sisters, Annie and Eva, shared a home for many years on Morehampton Road, Dublin.
  220 F viii
Eva MCDONNELL was born 16 Apr 1916 in Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died 6 Oct 2009 in Foxford, Co. Mayo and was buried in Urlaur New Cemetery, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo.

Eva was a caterer in Holles Street Hospital in Dublin. She never married. She and her sisters Annie and Emma lived together for many years in their home on Morehampton Road in Dublin.

53. Cormac GORDON (Thomas GORDON , Anne ) was born 26 Feb 1870 in Kilgarriff, Fairymount, Co. Roscommon. He died 13 Sep 1939 in Kilgarriff, Fairymount, Co. Roscommon and was buried 15 Sep 1939 in Fairymount Cemetery.

Cormac ran the Gordon family farm in Kilgarriff.

Cormac married Mary MORAHAN, daughter of Owen MORAHAN and Margaret O'HARA, on 7 Feb 1906 in Jamestown, Co. Leitrim. Mary was born Aug 1877 in Cloonfeacle, Kiltoghert, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim and was christened 7 Aug 1877 in Kiltoghert, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim. She died 20 Jan 1932 in Dublin and was buried in Fairymount Cemetery, Co. Roscommon.

Sponsors at Mary's baptism were John Morahan and Jane Murray.

Witnesses to Mary's marriage to Cormac Gordon were John Gordon and Belinda Morahan. Presumably Belinda was Mary's sister, Linda.

Mary died in hospital in Dublin following complications from an operation carried out at either a Dublin hospital or the hospital in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.

They had the following children:
