Descendants of Patrick LYNCH

First Generation

1. Patrick LYNCH died Bet 1881 and 1901.

It's though the Lynch family may have come from the 'quarterland' of Bunnacrick in the townland of Binion (sometimes spelled Binnion) in the parish of Clonmany, Co. Donegal.

Note from Helen: Although neither my husband nor I are descended from Patrick Lynch above, Patrick's granddaughter Mamie Lynch married Tom McDonnell, my husband's first cousin once removed. In the course of my research into Tom's family, I came across much valuable information on the Lynch family, hence its inclusion on the website.

Patrick married Mary DOHERTY. Mary died Apr 1911 in Binion, Clonmany, Co. Donegal.

They had the following children:

Rose LYNCH was born 21 Oct 1865 in Bunacrick, Binion, Clonmany, Co. Donegal and was christened 22 Oct 1865 in Clonmany. She died prob bef 1871.

Sponsors at Rose's baptism were Bryan Doherty and Rose Doherty.

It's probable Rose died as a child because another Rose was born into the family a few years later.
+ 3 F ii Catherine (Cassie) LYNCH was born 14 Oct 1867 and died prob late 1930s.

Mary LYNCH was born about 1868 in Bunacrick, Binion, Clonmany, Co. Donegal. She died in Binion, Clonmany, Co. Donegal.

Mary went to Boston in her late teens. After about three years there she contracted TB and returned home where she died only a few months later.

Brigid LYNCH was born 26 Jul 1870 in Bunacrick, Binion, Clonmany, Co. Donegal and was christened 26 Jul 1870 in Clonmany. She died in prob Boston.

Sponsors at Brigid's baptism were Bryan Doherty and Catherine Doherty.

Brigid went to Boston where she entered the convent of Notre Dame taking the name Sr. Mary Rita.
+ 7 F vi Rose LYNCH was born bet 1871 and 1873 and died mid 1940s.

Patrick LYNCH was born Dec 1873 in Bunacrick, Binion, Clonmany, Co. Donegal and was christened 26 Dec 1873 in Clonmany. He died prob. as an infant.

Sponsors at Patrick's baptism were Bryan Doherty and Cecily Doherty.
