Michael lived at The Square in Charlestown, Co. Roscommon. According to the 1901 census he was a "general merchant".

Michael married 'unknown' FITZGERALD. 'unknown' died before 1902.

It's believed Bea became a nun.

3. Alex MCDONNELL (Alexander ).

Alex was a doctor and lived in the Stamford Hill area of London. He was well-known among the Irish community there.

4. Josephine MCDONNELL (Alexander ).

Josephine married Michael HORKAN, son of George HORKAN.

A brother of Michael was a judge in Montana in the United States.

7. John MCDONNELL (Alexander ) was born about 1860. He died Dec 1922 and was buried in Dominican Abbey Monastery, Orlar, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo.

John and Lizzie lived in Woodlawn, Kilmovee.

John married Eliza Ellen (Lizzie) GORDON, daughter of Thomas GORDON and Anne FOLEY, on 28 Apr 1892 in Fairymount Church. Eliza was born about 23 Jul 1868 in Kilgarriff, Fairymount, Co. Roscommon. She died 3 Dec 1955 in Dublin and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Lizzie lived in Dublin towards the end of her life.

They had the following children:

Alexander (Alex) MCDONNELL was born about 1894 in prob. Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. He died Oct 1920 and was buried in Dominican Abbey Monastery, Orlar, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo.

Alex died of blood poisoning following an injury to his arm with a scythe.

Anne (Annie) MCDONNELL was born about 1895 in prob. Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died 10 Jun 1976 in Dublin and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Annie was a nurse and lived in London before returning to Ireland. She never married. She and her sisters, Eva and Emma, lived together in a house on Morehampton Road in Dublin.

+ 30 M iv Michael George MCDONNELL was born 1904 and died mid 1990s.

Mary MCDONNELL was born 22 Feb 1903 in prob. Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died date unknown.

It's possible Mary died as an infant as another daughter named Mary was born the following year to John and Lizzie.

Mary Elizabeth (Sr. Mary Walter) MCDONNELL was born 7 Apr 1904 in prob. Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died 1981.

Sr. Mary Walter was a member of the Sisters of Charity order in Dublin.

Emma MCDONNELL was born 11 May 1910 in prob. Corgarriff, Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. She died 2 May 1982 in Dublin and was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.

Emma was a matron in Clongowes College and in St. Vincent's Hospital (there's a library named after her in St. Vincent's). She never married. She and her sisters, Annie and Eva, lived together in a house on Morehampton Road, Dublin.
