				Charles married Catherine (Katie) DUFFY in U.S.. Catherine died date unknown. Katie was a first cousin of Michael Gearty who married Charles's niece Emily Lavin. Katie and Charles returned to Ireland from the United States in the 1920s and lived about a mile outside Carrick-on-Shannon on the Leitrim Village road.
	41	M	vii	Laurence O'HARA was born about 20 Dec 1859 in Cloongreahen, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon and was christened 20 Dec 1859. He died after Oct 1903 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Laurence was well known in the Boyle area having been elected to the Boyle Town Commission. He also owned the Rockingham Arms Hotel which had previously been owned by his father-in-law. Laurence sold the hotel around 1905.
				Laurence married Sara O'LEARY, daughter of Thomas O'LEARY, on 25 Feb 1884 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Sara was born about 1855 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. She died Oct 1903 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon and was buried in Eastersnow, Co. Roscommon. Sara was an only child. Her father was the proprietor of the Rockingham Arms Hotel in Boyle.

We know this from her mother's obituary in The Roscommon Herald of 29 November 1919 in which the list of chief mourners included "...Mrs. John McGrath (Elphin), Mrs. Chris Bury and Mrs. Patrick Flynn, Cootehall (daughters): Mr. John McGrath, Mr. T. Christie and Mr. Patrick Flynn (sons-in-law)....Austin McGrath and Gerald Flynn (grandsons), Eileen Flynn (granddaughter)" and we know that Anne's sisters Ellen and Elizabeth were married to John McGrath and Patrick Flynn respectively. It's possible Chris Bury and T. Christie are the same person (assuming a typographical error in the obituary) but if not, then Anne had another sister whose name we don't know. I had thought that Anne had a sister named Mary as her brother William in Philadelphia used to mention a sister named Mary to his family. However, according to the 1911 census, Anne's parents, Rossy and Lizzie O'Hara, had six children born alive, all six of whom were alive at the time of the census. Including Mary would bring the number of children to seven, so there is clearly an error in the information shown here on the family of Rossy and Lizzie. Corrections would be most welcome.

A Joseph O'Hara, son of Roger and Elizabeth O'Hara from Cootehall, Co. Roscommon emigrated to the United States in 1911 aged about 23. Although a family source has provided us with a birth year of 1883 for our Joseph (which would have made him about 28 years of age in 1911), it seems very likely this is our Joseph above, especially in light of the fact that the Joseph who emigrated had a brother named William as did ours. Assuming it was our Joseph who emigrated, here are his immigration details: Joseph, accompanied by an Annie O'Hara (relationship to Joseph unknown) who was aged about 60, arrived in Philadelphia on 28 March 1911 and were met by a Hubert O'Hara (relationship to Joseph and Annie unknown).

We know Patrick emigrated to the United States because an 1880 census record has been located for him (and his brother Thomas) in the household of his aunt Anne (née O'Hara) and her husband, John Ryan, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Listed with Roger in the census are his wife, Winifred, aged 45, and a servant. Another possibility is that the Roger from the census is Roger, son of Patrick O'Hara and Honoria Lavin of Clegna, who was born in 1846.

Ten years later the same household has the following listed: Patrick (84) William (46), son Lizzie (40), daughter-in-law Lawrence (10), grandson Margaret M. (8), granddaughter William and Lizzie had been married 11 years and had five children born alive, only two of whom were still alive at the time of the census.

John enlisted for service in World War I and served as a private in the 6th Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers. He died at Gallipoli. His name is listed on the Helles Memorial (panel 178 to 180), a 30-metre-high obelisk on the tip of the Gallipoli Peninsula that commemorates Commonwealth servicemen who died in the Gallipoli campaign and have no known grave.
	128	M	xiv	Aloysius (Louis) O'HARA was born about 1897 in probably Moigh, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon. He died in probably Australia. Aloysius, who also went by the name of Louis, emigrated to Australia. Late in life he married a widow who already had children.
