2. Malachy RYAN (Loughlin ) was born 1850 in prob Garryhill, Co. Carlow. He died 1924.

It's not known if Malachy had siblings.

Like his father before him, Malachy was headmaster of Garryhill School which was located about 100 yards from the cottage where Malachy lived. At some point - it's not known if it was in Malachy's time or not - the family ran the local post office.

Malachy married Mary MURPHY, daughter of John MURPHY and Mary MACDONALD / MCDONNELL. Mary was born about 29 Mar 1857 in Knocklonogad, Sliguff, Co. Carlow and was christened 29 Mar 1857 in Myshall, Co. Carlow. She died Apr 1932.

Sponsors at Mary's christening were John MacDonald and Margaret MacDonald.

Loughlin RYAN was born about 20 May 1888 in prob Garryhill, Co. Carlow and was christened 20 May 1888 in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. He died 21 Sep 1955 in Knocklonogad, Garryhill, Co. Carlow and was buried in Drumphea Church Cemetery, Co. Carlow.

Sponsors at Loughlin's baptism were Michael Nolan and Bridget Murphy.

Loughlin lived in Knocklonogad in Garryhill.

John RYAN was born about 6 Apr 1890 in Garryhill, Co. Carlow and was christened 6 Apr 1890 in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. He died 2 Apr 1916.

Bridget (Bridie) RYAN (Sr. Gertrude) was born about 13 Mar 1892 in Garryhill, Co. Carlow and was christened 13 Mar 1892 in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. She died 1969.

Bridie was a Sister of Mercy nun in Carlow.
