Babe was only about 13 when her mother died. She helped raise her younger siblings.

Babe married John (Jack Bill) O'CONNOR "Jack Bill", son of William O'CONNOR and Johanna CUNNINGHAM, on 4 Mar 1916 in Newtownsandes (Moyvane), Co. Kerry. Jack Bill was born 23 May 1876 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 8 Nov 1959 in prob. Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was buried in Old Cemetery, Knockanure, Co. Kerry.

Jack Bill ran the O'Connor family farm.

According to their son, Dick, the marriage of Jack Bill and Babe was arranged, a practice common at the time.

Ellen married Robert (Bob) STACK, son of 'unknown' STACK (male) and 'unknown' NOLAN (Caution: not verified). Robert died 20 Nov 1957 and was buried in Knockanure Cemetery, Co. Kerry.

Ellie and Bob farmed in Drommuher, Moyvane. It's thought Bob was from Drommuher.

10. Bridget SHANAHAN (Richard , John ) was born 7 Apr 1895 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. She died 4 Feb 1949 and was buried in Murher Cemetery, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Bridget was only about 51 years of age when she died.

Bridget married Michael (Mick) HANRAHAN, son of John HANRAHAN and Margaret CUNNINGHAM. Michael was born about 1891 in poss. Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 11 Jun 1967 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Mick was also known as "Mickeen John Paddy" (because his father was John and his grandfather was Paddy). He was well known in the area for his ability to cure ringworm, this knowledge apparently having been passed down to him by his father. When people would come to him with ringworm, he would apply to the skin a mixture made up mostly of unsalted butter, but nobody knows what he put into the butter to make the cure.

11. John R. SHANAHAN (Richard , John ) was born 22 Oct 1896 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 19 May 1974.

John married Winifred (Winnie) O'CARROLL, daughter of Jeremiah (Jer) O'CARROLL and Margaret LYNCH. Winifred was born about 1907 in Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry. She died 10 Aug 2001 in Kilbaha, Moyvane, Co. Kerry and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

John and Winnie lived in Kilbaha, Moyvane.

13. Kathleen O'SULLIVAN (Bridget SHANAHAN , John ) died 1974 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Kathleen married James (Jim) SHEEHY, son of 'unknown' SHEEHY. James was born in Glenalappa, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died 1970 and was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery, Gale Bridge, Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

Jim was a brother of Paddy, the husband of Kathleen's sister Teresa.

Bridie married Bill BUCKLEY. Bill died date unknown.

Bridie and Bill lived in Aughrim, Moyvane.

18. Jer COLLINS (Mary SHANAHAN , John ) was born in prob. Ahalahana, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He died date unknown.

Jer married Mary MULLANE. Mary was born in Athea, Co. Limerick. She died date unknown.

Jer and Mary farmed in Murher, Moyvane.

21. Mary STACK (Ellen (Ellie) SHANAHAN , John ) was born 3 Jan 1885 in Ballygoughlan, Glin, Co. Limerick. She died 1 Feb 1966.

Mary married David (Davy) MOORE, son of Thomas MOORE and Jane ("Mudsy") JAMESON, on 10 Feb 1912. David was born 1877. He died 1955 in poss Ballyculhane, Glin, Co. Limerick.

Davy and Mary farmed in Ballyculhane, Glin.

Davy's father, Thomas Moore, kept good hunting dogs and was a crack shot, and he regularly accompanied the Knight of Glin (of Glin Castle) on his hunting and shooting expeditions. In fact he was one of the few allowed to shoot in the grounds on his own. He was such a good shot that much of his kill would end up on the Knight's table at the castle and, at times, at Royal tables in England. When the Knight, notwithstanding their close friendship, asked him for his two dogs, Davy replied, "I will shoot them first, Knight, before you will have them".

Michael and Babe farmed in Clogough, Glin. Michael's brother Tom and mother, Josie, lived with them.
