Note: A brother of Mossie, the late Mickie, who was unmarried, lived with an aunt, Babe Bunce, who was married to Jack "Slate" O'Connor from Clounbrane, Moyvane (thus named because he was the only man in the parish who had a slate roof). Mossie has five other siblings: Sr. Emelian (1918-2004), Mary (deceased), Paddy (deceased), Con, Eileen and Peggy.

26. Patrick (Paddy) KENNELLY (Mary STACK , Edmund ) was born prob. 1879 in Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry. He was buried in Knockanure Cemetery, Co. Kerry.

Paddy and his siblings were orphaned as young children. They were raised by their uncle, Pats Kennelly and his wife, Ellen, who were trustees of the children's parents' farm. When Paddy came of age, he took over the running of the farm.

Paddy became very skilled in veterinary manipulation and cattle medicine, and developed expertise in dealing with pre-natal and post-natal complications. As a result he was much in demand in the delivery of cattle, mares, etc.

Patrick married Margaret MCELLIGOTT. Margaret was buried in Knockanure Cemetery, Co. Kerry.

Jerry and his siblings were orphaned as young children after their parents died of 'fever'. They were raised by their uncle, Pats Kennelly and his wife, Ellen, who lived close to the children's parents' farm.

As an adult, Jerry moved to Skibbereen, Co. Cork where he ran a hardware store.

Mary married David (Davy) MOORE, son of Thomas MOORE and Jane ("Mudsy") JAMESON, on 10 Feb 1912. David was born 1877. He died 1955 in poss Ballyculhane, Glin, Co. Limerick.

Davy and Mary farmed in Ballyculhane, Glin.

Davy's father, Thomas Moore, kept good hunting dogs and was a crack shot, and he regularly accompanied the Knight of Glin (of Glin Castle) on his hunting and shooting expeditions. In fact he was one of the few allowed to shoot in the grounds on his own. He was such a good shot that much of his kill would end up on the Knight's table at the castle and, at times, at Royal tables in England. When the Knight, notwithstanding their close friendship, asked him for his two dogs, Davy replied, "I will shoot them first, Knight, before you will have them".
