Unfortunately, we know little about the family of my 3rd great-grandmother Mary Gavin who was born around 1791, probably in Soloheadbeg, Co. Tipperary. She married Edmond Carew of Soloheadbeg around 1806 and they had 13 children, most of whom emigrated to Newfoundland and the United States. Mary herself settled in Newfoundland, probably after Edmond’s death. For information on the descendants of Mary and Edmond, please click on descendant list or narrative report.
