Gordon
Our Gordon family is descended from John Gordon (Joe’s 3rd great-grandfather) who was probably born in Scotland around 1750. John moved to Ireland in the latter part of the 18th century and settled in the townland of Kilgarriff in the parish of Fairymount (Tibohine), near Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. It is possible he had to leave Scotland because he was Catholic.
It appears John and his wife, Mary (surname unknown), had at least three sons, Patrick, Thomas or Cormac, and John. For further information, please click on the Descendant list or Narrative report, or on one of the photographs below.
