O’Dower/Dore

We have traced our Dore/Dower family back to my 5th great-grandfather Robert O Doghair (Irish spelling of Dore), born around 1705 in west Co. Limerick. Descendants of Robert’s settled in Gortnagloss, Templeglantine, Co. Limerick, with a number of their descendants going on to settle in Newtownsandes (now known as Moyvane), Co. Kerry.
